It's Your Business
 | | Free Press/Lorie Palmer | | Ruth Oie (right), owner of The Book Shoppe in Grangeville, passes a $75 check to Sue Phillip of Elk City, Friends of the Elk City School and Community Library chair. The money was from the Pacific Northwest Book Sellers Literacy Organization, representing matching funds for monies donated to the Friends of the Library Fun Run by the Book Shoppe. The purpose of the PNBS organization is to promote and encourage reading by providing matching grants to PNBA book stores that have participated in fund-raisers for the literacy groups with donation of books or money. The PNBA awarded $7,800 in grants in 2006 matching donations from independent book stores across the pacific northwest. |
