Walk For Life set for May 11 in Grangeville

GRANGEVILLE -- Enjoy the fresh air, get some exercise, and celebrate moms on Mother's Day weekend at the 2013 Walk for Life event in Grangeville. The event will be held Saturday, May 11, beginning and ending at the Sts. Peter and Paul Parish Center on South B Street.
The festivities begin with a free breakfast hosted by the Knights of Columbus from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Walk registration begins at 9 a.m, and the walk itself starts at 9:55 a. The post-walk celebration will include giveaways, prize drawings for adults and kids, and free cookies and beverages for participants and supporters.
This 6th annual Walk For Life is a major fund-raiser for the Hope Center facilities in Grangeville and Kamiah. The Center provides free pregnancy tests; confidential counseling about unplanned pregnancy and options; more than 100 free parenting and life skills classes for women, men, and families; and free infant, toddler, and maternity supplies for class participants. They have served more than 3,000 families during the past five years.
Event prizes are provided by the Bountiful Baskets, Grangeville City Pool, Crema Café, and J. Hardin Inc. Event supplies and logistics sponsors include Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, Knights of Columbus, Avista, City of Grangeville, and Gortsema Motors.
