Avista crews on April 23 hung a "Denim Day" banner of jeans across Main Street in Grangeville as part of April Sexual Assault Awareness Month, sonsored in part by YWCA for Idaho and Lewis counties. Denim Day began after an Italian Supreme Court overturned a rape conviction in 1999 because the victim wore jeans.
