Excellent results from adult stem cell research
Letter - Alm

On Jan. 11 the U.S. House of Representatives took up legislation to reverse a presidential ban on federal funding of embryonic stem sell research which requires the destruction of human embryos.
Stem cell research using human embryonic stem cells, which destroy the embryos, has had no success in treating any disease or disorder despite massive funding support internationally.
The following is accurate data from LifeSiteNews.com. There are excellent results from adult stem cell research, as opposed to embryonic stem cells.
Some of these results are as follows:
Ã Small dime-sized human livers made of umbilical cord blood. Perhaps in 15 years, the technique could even be employed to manufacture whole human livers.
Ã Adult stem cells offer hope for diabetes treatment.
Ã Adult stem cells used to treat emergency heart attack patients; this new technique is scheduled to begin trials in January at two London hospitals.
