In last week's Free Press, Richard Stallings, writing an opinion as chairman of the Idaho Democratic Party, used the terms "silly," "anti-intellectual" and "absurd" to describe Idaho's newly elected member of the United States House of Representatives. Wow. One month into the job, and the Democratic chairman calls our newly elected Republican representative an idiot. Where is Mr. Stallings respect for the political system, the ideas of a population, the will of the people? Where is the dignity due the office of Congress?
Mr. Stallings knows that members of the U.S. House of Representatives are, in fact, representatives of the people who elected them. Me. You. Us. I guess by association, we're all idiots.
