Grateful for author's time on backcountry history
Letter of thanks - York

Last Friday, Tom and I drove to Grangeville to hear Richard Holm Jr. give a presentation on his book "Bound for the Backcountry, A History of Idaho's Remote Airstrips." What a treat it was! The room was nearly full, and Richard engaged everyone from his first word to his last. Tom was especially pleased to see aerial film taken of Running Creek during the time that his father, Wally York, was an outfitter and guide in that territory. Richard's respect for the land, and his passion for documenting its history was clear. Those of us who live in or near the "backcountry" are grateful for his time, effort and talents!
