Service sucks; ask county to consider garbage bid 'do-over'
Letter - Vogelsong

I don't hardly ever think of Shakespeare, let alone quote him, but the situation with the dumpsters in our part of the world brought me to remember "All that glitters is not gold." I must complain about the fenced-in (totally) system and the highly restrictive menu of what is permissible garbage if one wishes to navigate the obstacle course from the parking area to the dumpsters while carrying two or three loaded garbage cans.
There is no way for the public to gain access to the dumpsters except through the restrictive entries to the dumpsters. Easy access could have been provided along the back wall fence to be able to back right up to the dumpsters as we have always done. In short, we were spoiled by Walco with great service, easy access and few restrictions. No wonder the present company could underbid Walco - they do not deliver a comparable service. In short, in my opinion, the new service we are stuck with now sucks. Is there any chance the present contract can be set aside and rebid? Next time the public needs to know what kind of service they can expect, or not expect.
I ask the county commissioners to consider this situation and, if possible, go for a "do over."
