Mildred Marie Schuch Baerlocher, 90 Mildred Marie Schuch Baerlocher died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, in Lewiston. She was born Nov. 4, 1919, in Russell, Idaho, to Frank and Mary Schlader Schuch. She married Paul Baerlocher Oct. 16, 1941. They lived in the Winona area, and in 1964 they moved to Greencreek where they raised their seven sons. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and Alter Society in Greencreek. She is survived by her sons, Milton and Shirley of Cottonwood, Ronald and Vicky of Kamiah, Tim and Kathy of Clarkston, Wash., Stan and Wilma of Lewiston, Bruce and Kyra of Moses Lake, Wash., Paul and Michelle of Everett, Wash., and Cary of Boise; a brother, Edward Schuch of Rupert; and a sister, Arlene and Earl Uptmor of Middleton; 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. A rosary service was held Saturday, Aug. 28, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Greencreek and Mass of Christian burial was celebrated directly following. Rev. Eamonn McNerney was the celebrant. Burial was at the Greencreek Community Cemetery. Uhlorn Funeral Home of Cottonwood was in charge of the arrangements. Vincent G.Uhlenkott, 98 Vincent G. Uhlenkott, 98, a longtime resident of Clarkston, Wash., died early Friday morning, Aug. 20, 2010, at the Clarkston Care Center, where he had resided since October 2009. Death was due to age-related causes. He was born in Greencreek on June 28, 1912, to Henry and Louisa Wassmuth Uhlenkott and was the fifth of seven children. He did his early schooling in Greencreek through the third grade, at which time his mother died in February 1920. At that point, he began living with his uncle, Joseph Uhlenkott, in Cottonwood and finished his schooling there. He married Claudine Pfiffner on Oct. 3, 1933, in Ferdinand, and together they had five children. They moved several times in their early years of marriage. His first employment was with the Gray Motor Company in Craigmont, and then in 1937, he found a position with John's Auto Wrecking and moved to Clarkston, where he spent the rest of his life. In 1946, he and his brother, Clem, purchased John's Auto Wrecking and he continued there until his retirement in 1980. He was deeply involved with his church, Holy Family Catholic Parish, as well as with many civic activities. He spent years working with the Boy Scouts of America, received a 50-year continuous membership pin from the Moose Lodge, and was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus, which he joined in 1947. He was a proud and active Rotarian for many years. In 1953, he was elected to the Clarkston City Council and served as Clarkston's mayor from 1960 until 1966. In retirement, he and his wife, Claudine, were active members of the Good Sams RV Club, and their club trips and gatherings were a highlight of their retirement. Recently, he spent time at the Pautler Senior Center several times per week, and valued both their meals and their activities. He was always close to his family, and loved his home and his gardening. His ability to fix practically anything amazed everyone who knew him. He particularly enjoyed exploring all the back roads of the area, the Blue Mountains and his original Camas Prairie home area. He always looked forward to visits with his relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudine, in 2006; his brothers, Leo, Frank, Tony and Clem; his sisters, Gertie Hauth and Louise Prom; and one granddaughter, Terri Baker. He is survived by his two daughters and three sons, Emagene Warren, OSB, Glen and wife Cynthia, Lloyd and wife Judy, and Mary and husband Richard Weeks, and Loren; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. His funeral was Tuesday, Aug. 24, at Holy Family Church. Interment was at the Ferdinand Cemetery later the same day. For those who wish, memorials can be made to Holy Family School in Clarkston or to the Monastery of St. Gertrude in Cottonwood. Virgil Rex Kidder, 71 Virgil Rex Kidder, 71, died Aug. 14, 2010. He was the first of three sons, born Sept. 9, 1938, in Grangeville to Jessie Rex Kidder and Claire Irene Warden (Kidder, Halbert, Meyer), formerly of Grangeville. Both are deceased. He died at his home in Turner, Ore. He is survived by four daughter, Tina of Salem, Ore., Wendy of Tualitin, Ore., Darcy of Salem and Billie Jo of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Jack of Woodburn, Ore., and Vaughn of Portland, Ore.; ; two half-sisters and two half-brothers, Michelle Forester of Boise, Carrie Ready of Vale, Ore., Rick Halbirt of Hubbard, Or., Mike Halbirt of Silverton, Ore.; two stepsisters, Jan Waite of Meridian and Nancy Smith of McCall; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; uncle, Kenneth Kidder (Linnie), two aunts, Eilene (Melvin) Gribble of Harpster, Angele (Burt) Hazelbaker of Grangeville; cousins, Bob and Jim of Harpster, Lark Hall of Grangeville, Nick Hazelbaker of Darby, Mont., Donald and Eugene Warden of Grangeville and Danny Warden of Harpster. He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepbrother, Robert Wilbanks, of Grangeville. The family was raised in Turner, Ore. He had many hobbies including gold prospecting, trapshooting, reading, puzzles, golf, watching football, guitar and dancing. His family spent many happy hours around his barbecue pit in his front yard. Even though he had recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer, which he was scheduled to start radiation treatment for Monday, Aug. 16, he still found quality time with his family. He served in the Navy in the late '50s and early '60s. He was a radioman aboard a minesweeper based at the Long Beach, Calif., Naval Base. A memorial service and celebration of life was held Saturday, Aug. 21, in Salem, Ore. Mary Kay Currin Lobaugh, 50 Mary Kay Currin Lobaugh, 50, died June 28, 2010, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla., of a chronic lung disorder. Her husband and daughters were by her side. She was born to Wayne and Virginia (McPherson) Currin on Dec. 23, 1959, in Cottonwood, Idaho. She attended Prairie High School in Cottonwood and later worked as a hairstylist until she married Robert Lobaugh on June 12, 1982, in Dallas, Texas, and became a homemaker and mother. They made their home in Dallas, but moved to Oklahoma in the last few years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia (McPherson) and her brother Steven, her grandparents Marion and Zelma McPherson and Simeon and Rosa Currin. She is survived by her husband Robert, daughters, Jennifer and Nicole, father Wayne and stepmother Bonnie of Kamiah, a sister Becky (Brendan) Crea of Grangeville, Idaho, brothers Vincent (Cecelia) of Kansas City, Kansas, Bruce (Melonie) of Dallas, Texas, and 12 nieces and nephews. A service will be held on Sept. 11 in Oklahoma. Burial will be at the Keuterville Cemetery at a later date. Helen Baldwin, 77 Helen Baldwin, 77, of Stites, Idaho, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at Syringa Hospital in Grangeville. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 2, at Tahoe Mountain Rest Cemetery near Kooskia. Pastor Paul Baldwin will officiate. A covered dish dinner will follow at the Church of God in Stites. A memorial celebration will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 10, at the Stites Church of God, Stites.
