Richard A. Ackerman, 76 Richard A. Ackerman, 76, of Grangeville, died unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, of a heart attack at Syringa General Hospital in Grangeville. He was born July 16, 1930, at Glentana, Mont., to Anthony D. and Eleanora M. (Kramer) Ackerman. In the summer of 1936 his family moved to Grangeville where he attended elementary school and played four years of varsity football for the Bulldogs. After graduating in 1949 from G.H.S., he worked in the local J.C. Penney's store. In 1951 he enlisted with the U.S. Army serving as an M.P. in San Francisco, and later as a cook at Fort Ord in California. He was discharged from the Army in March of 1953 but stayed active in the Army Reserves until August of 1956. Richard Beckman, 77 Richard w. Beckman, 77, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, in Coeur d'Alene after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Cottonwood to Albert and Agnes Stubbers Beckman. He attended schools in Cottonwood and graduated from St. Gertrude's Academy in 1947. He married Marguerite Huntley on May 5, 1954, and they celebrated their golden anniversary in 2004. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, attaining rank of Grand Knight from 1997-1999. He enjoyed bingo, reading westerns, jigsaw puzzles and spending time with his family. But more than anything, he liked to fish. Hattie Grace Farris, 91 Hattie Grace Farris, 91, of Clearwater, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, at the Grangeville Health and Rehab Center of causes related to age. She was born Nov. 11, 1914, to Streeter and Minnie (Marshall) Wicks at Lookout. She spent most of her life in the Clearwater area but graduated from high school at Gifford. Dorma L. Wright, 77 Dorma L. Wright, 77, of Grangeville died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, at her home in Grangeville. We ask others to join in celebration of our beloved Nana, mother and sister's life. |
