Jury finds Kooskia man guilty of aggravated battery
Sentencing set July 8
By David Rauzi - editor, ICFP

Sentencing is set July 8 for a Kooskia man found guilty last week on a felony aggravated battery charge.
Awaiting that hearing, Thomas D. Hendren, 62, is being held in the Idaho County Jail without bond.
Following a three-day trial, May 6-8, held in Second District Court, according to Idaho County Prosecutor Kirk MacGregor, an eight-man, four woman jury deliberated more than four and a half hours last Wednesday before returning with the guilty verdict.
Hendren was charged following an Aug. 18, 2012, incident on Broadway Avenue in Kooskia that began with an argument and then a physical altercation, during which he beat the 57-year-old male victim with an aluminum baseball bat. The victim suffered a concussion and traumatic head injury, and multiple severe bruising throughout his body; he was treated at Syringa Hospital and released the following day.
District Judge Michael Griffin presided in this case. Hendren was represented by private attorney Scott Chapman of Lewiston. Idaho County Sheriff's Deputy Tom Remington investigated the case.
