BLM making progress on east side fuel breaks
Elk City
By PEOPLE (Elk City) - Jamie Edmondson
ELK CITY -- Although things should be temporarily "greening up" on Wednesday, it can't be far off before the real thing starts happening. Folks have already been burning thatch/grass (between recent "white" events). It is nice to see winter going away, but the long range weather forecast may have us wishing for more snowpack. NOAA is calling for well above normal temps through September, with normal or below normal precipitation. Big time fire this summer may be in the cards.
With that as a backdrop, it's good that the BLM has been making good progress on logging the east side of the township. More fuel breaks!
Rolph Olson celebrated his 87th birthday on March 10. Attending were daughter and son-in-law, Margret and Rob Robison; granddaughter and husband, Ashlee and Eric Wagenmann; grandson, Bryce; great-granddaughter, Amiya; along with good friends, Ray and Linda Hargens and son, Mark; and Marge Konrad of Clearwater. Congratulations.
Back Country Meals is sponsoring a family night of bingo at the VFW, March 20, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The Girl Scouts will be selling hot-dogs and drinks (I want cookies!). Everyone is welcome -- come and enjoy the evening. The VFW now has air cleaners, so, even the atmosphere should be more pleasant!
"For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him" 2 Chronicles 16:9 -- Checked your heart lately?
"If the present Congress errs in too much talking, how can it be otherwise in a body to which the people send 150 lawyers whose trade it is to question everything, yield nothing and talk by the hour? That 150 lawyers should do business together ought not to be expected." --Thomas Jefferson, autobiography, 1821
