Pirates press Kendrick for fourth straight win

Prairie 63, Kendrick 23

COTTONWOOD — Just before Thanksgiving break, the Prairie girls claimed their fourth win of the season with a comprehensive crushing of Kendrick on Nov. 26.

Two Pirates — Kayla Schumacher (17 points) and Hailey Danly (13) — cracked double-digits on a night Kendrick could not solve Prairie’s press.

Up next, PHS (4-0) visited Lapwai after the Free Press print deadline on Dec. 3, and is set to visit Clearwater Valley on Dec. 5 before hosting Genesee on Saturday, Dec. 7. They’ll visit Troy on Dec. 10.

Summit 43, Potlatch JV 31

POTLATCH — Sarah Chmelik scored 10 points in a win over the Potlatch junior varsity Nov. 26, as the Patriots balanced their offense among six of the eight players on the squad.

Up next, Summit will visit Kendrick on Dec. 5 and is set to host Deary after the 2 p.m. boys game Dec. 7 at Highland High School. The girls are slated to visit Meadows Valley on Dec. 10.

Kamiah 37, Grangeville JV 31

Sam Jenner and Destiny Jennings turned in eleven points apiece on Nov. 26, boosting Kamiah to a win over the Grangeville junior varsity.

For GHS, Sarah Wilson notched 17 points.

Up next, the Grangeville varsity girls played at Colton after the press deadline Dec. 3. They’ll visit McCall on Dec. 5, host Asotin on Dec. 7, then host Orofino on Dec. 10.
