Vols put in 8.4K wilderness work hours in 2013

Selway-Bitterroot Frank Church Wilderness Foundation volunteers put in nearly 8,400 hours last season, clearing 5,700 trees from 540 trail miles and packing out 283 pounds of trash.

The group estimates the “stewardship value” of this work at about $815,000. The group will meet twice, in Lewiston and in Hamilton, Mont., in February 2014.
