3Rivers Amateur Radio Club

At the October meeting, options for a backpack containing an emergency radio, power pack and antenna were discussed. Club T-shirts were also discussed. The Slim-Jim antennas are now in.

Members of the club participated in the Simulated Emergency Test on Sat. Nov. 2. The scenario was a hacker brought down the Internet and the power grid throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho and parts of California. Messages were passed between counties and Emergency Operations Centers (EOC) in each state.

More work was done on the club repeater tower. Some work still remains before the antenna can be placed on the tower.

At the next meeting, plans for the Christmas celebration will be discussed.

A back pack to hold an emergency radio and power pack plus antenna will be demonstrated.

The next club meeting will be on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pine Ridge Baptist Church, 108 Pine Rd., at the top of Hill Street in Kamiah. Examinations for the amateur radio license will be given before the meeting.

For examination information call Alan Justesen at 937-2222. For club or meeting information call Bob Finch at 935-8586. Visit the 3Rivers Amateur Radio Club website at
