Region drier, cooler than normal for October

The National Weather Service (NWS) reports the North Central Idaho and western Montana region for October has been drier and cooler than normal so far.

Reporting from the Grangeville NWS station, Grangeville has recorded .19 inches of precipitation and an average temperature of 44.4 degrees from Oct. 1-17. If dry, cool forecasts go as predicted, this could be the 11th driest and eighth coolest October on record since 1893.
