Grangeville Police Chief Morgan Drew displays a collection box containing an estimated 15 pounds of prescription medications collected during a four-hour period last Saturday, Oct. 26. The collection event was to address the surplus of unused, unneeded and expired prescription medications in the community that could otherwise be abused or end up polluting landfills. Collected medications are taken to a federal Drug Enforcement Agency facility for incineration. GPD regularly collects these prescription medications at its office at city hall.
