Dr. Hollopeter rocks as community doc

Grangeville is a very fortunate town to have such a wonderful doctor as Dr. Hollopeter. I absolutely loved the article [Sept. 11]. I am a patient of Dr. Hollopeter and have been since I was around a year old. I now live in South Carolina and no longer get to see him for my ailments but he has shaped the way I look at medicine and how I view my doctors. I am so glad that my family still gets to see him on a regular basis because he is truly the best doctor I have ever met and his staff is fabulous! Dr. Hollopeter cares about his patients, remembers who they are, and uses his knowledge of them to help aid in his decisions. Sometimes he even gives out a little fatherly advice in a stern but loving way, if necessary.

After I left Grangeville I experienced multiple levels of medical care. I went from having a doctor who knew my whole family and my entire life to a doctor who didn’t even deliver my baby because he didn’t feel like coming in, to a pediatrician who can’t even remember my children’s gender, to having a separate doctor for general care, etc. This was the case living in a big city and living in a rural town. I feel very lucky and blessed to have had the most wonderful, insightful, experienced, and caring doctor for the first 25 years of my life. He helped get me diagnosed with my ureter problem which led to many years of being pain free, to helping me realize I was being dramatic, to prenatal care of my first child for five months. He is one amazing person and doctor. He runs an amazing practice with amazing staff. I couldn’t have asked for more, except for him to move with me.

You will never find the level of care that Dr. Hollopeter gives anywhere else in the country! He is unique in the ever-changing society. I can’t thank him and his staff enough for my experiences with them. If there was ever a reason to move back to Grangeville it would be to have him as a doctor.

Kelly Arnzen Shehee Williston, S.C.
