Nez Perce Tribe receives 2014 Farm Bill funds for noxious weed control

The Nez Perce Tribe was among the recipients awarded funding through $48.1 million allocated through the 2014 Farm Bill designated for agricultural health projects.

Awarded was $290,000 to the Nez Perce Tribe Bio-control Project for noxious/invasive weed survey and control activities.

Funds provided through this allocation to go projects to prevent the introduction or spread of plant pests and diseases that threaten America’s agriculture economy and the environment. Scientists estimate the total economic cost of all invasive species to be approximately $120 billion annually.
