Hikin for Healthy Hooters walk/run will be held Saturday, May 17, starting at the Little Salmon River Lodge at 10 a.m. The hike is measured each mile the full distance of Pollock Road; however, since there is a wide range of age and abilities in participants, some people run the entire distance, some people walk half a mile…. it is just up to each individual. Following the walk/run is a barbecue with hamburgers, salads, chips, ice cream and water. There is an ongoing silent auction of unique items as well as practical ones throughout the morning, as well as drawings for some rather nice prizes. The Pinehurst Quilters will have another quilt to raffle off that is currently on display at Riggins Sterling Bank. This is a super fun event for a wonderful cause. Anyone wanting to participate in Hiking for Healthy Hooters on Saturday, May 17, in Riggins/Pollock can pick up Hikin’ forms at the Somedays Discount Store adjacent to the tennis court on Main Street. They would like the forms returned by April 25 to get shirts ordered. If you can’t attend, but would still like to purchase a shirt or make a donation, contact Patty Solberg in Riggins or Shannon Smith in Lewiston
The Pinehurst Quilters are partnering with ASK to spread the joy of quilting. If anyone has a sewing machine they would like to donate or sell, contact Rhonda Damon at ASK or Kathie Wright. ASK would appreciate any donations towards the purchase of sewing machines.
