HARPSTER – May is almost upon us and that means all that rain we had will bring beautiful May flowers. Already the hillsides are green with splashes of color from the daffodils and other early risers. Tuesday, April 22, was Earth Day. Let’s all do our part in keeping Mother Earth clean by recycling, planting trees and picking up roadside trash.
Last time I started a Harpster Trivia – how old is the Harpster Community Building and what was it originally used for? Answer: The building was built in 1906 and that makes it 108 years old. It was a one-room schoolhouse that many of our residents can remember attending. How did you do? This next one comes from our historian, Ester. How many names did Harpster have before it was finally called Harpster and what were some of the names?
Dedication ceremony for the veteran sign is still planned for May 18 with time TBA.
Bingo for May is Wednesday, May 7. Remember, if you bring a guest or a guest who has not attended before, your guest will receive a free speed bingo and you will get $2 off your bingo packet! Come join us for an evening of fun and you just might win a prize or two.
