School registrations scheduled locally

Grangeville High School

GRANGEVILLE – Registration for Grangeville High School is set for Aug. 18-21.

Seniors register Monday, Aug. 18, 9 a.m. to noon; juniors register Monday, Aug. 18, 1 to 4 p.m. Sophomores are set to register Tuesday, Aug. 19, 9 a.m. to noon and freshmen who attended Grangeville Elementary and Sts. Peter and Paul schools last year will also register Aug. 19, 1 to 4 p.m.

New students can register Aug. 20 and 21 by appointment only. Call 983-0580 beginning Monday, Aug. 7, to schedule a time. New students need to have a birth certificate, complete immunization record, along with the name, address, phone number and/or fax number of the school last attended. Student transcripts are required for those entering grades 10, 11 and 12.

Student fees should be paid at the time of registration. For students wishing to purchase student activity cards the cost is $30; class/ASB dues are $10 ($5 each). The dues are required for all students. Other fees will be collected on required dates or in class. You may also purchase your 2014-15 yearbooks at registration. Cost is $70.

The first day of classes will begin Wednesday, Aug. 27, 8:07 a.m. ASB and class pictures will be taken Wednesday, Sept. 5, and picture information packets are available at registration.

The first varsity football game will be against Moscow High School at home 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 29. The volleyball team begins their season with a jamboree at GHS Aug 26th, 4 p.m. All proceeds from the jamboree go to the IHSAA Youth Endowment Fund.

Clearwater Valley Junior-Senior High School

KOOSKIA – Clearwater Valley Junior-Senior High School in Kooskia will hold registration Monday, Aug. 18 and Tuesday, Aug. 19.

Seniors will register Aug. 18, 8-10 a.m. and juniors will register 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sophomores are set to register 1-2:30 p.m., and freshmen 2:30-3:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Aug. 19, sixth, seventh and eighth graders will register from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

New students in all grades can register Aug. 19 from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

Lunch break will be noon to 1 p.m. each day.

New students must bring a birth certificate, immunization records and a transcript from previously-attended schools.

Registration will take place in the high school computer lab, room 103. Parents and students need to allow enough time to finalize course requests, pay fees, get a locker and complete necessary paperwork.

The first day of school is Aug. 27. Picture day is Sept. 4.

Grangeville Elementary Middle School

GRANGEVILLE – Grangeville Elementary Middle School will hold new student registration Aug. 19-21, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call 983-0400 for details.

Sixth, seventh and eighth grade students can pick up schedules Friday, Aug. 22. A date for kindergarten through fifth grade students to visit their classrooms is currently being arranged and will be posted next week.

Clearwater Valley Elementary School

KOOSKIA — Clearwater Valley Elementary School will be hosting a Welcome Back Open House for students and parents on Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 5-7 p.m. The PTSA will be providing free taco salad and have a baked food sale. New staff will be introduced and students can bring their school supplies to their classrooms. For information:

Kamiah Middle School

KAMIAH — The Kamiah Middle School will hold registration Monday, Aug. 18, at the library. Eighth graders register 8:30 a.m.; seventh graders 10-11:30 a.m.
