Idaho suicide prevention hotline adds shifts

The Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline (1-800-273-TALK) continues to expand hours toward 24/7 coverage ahead of schedule, adding two late evening shifts to its current 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Friday hours.

With expanded hours, trained Idaho phone responders can field more calls from Idahoans who are in crisis or suicidal – and connect them with key resources in their local communities.

The hotline also will be able to offer follow-up calls to individuals seeking help.

Outside of ISPH operating hours, calls to 1-800-273-TALK (8255) are answered by crisis centers in other states.
