Christmas concert a celebration of talent by locals

COTTONWOOD — The Benedictine community of the Monastery of St. Gertrude celebrates Christmas in the traditional, liturgical manner: for 12 days beginning on Christmas Eve. In the spirit of the Christmas celebration, the monastery will present an afternoon of performances of Christmas music Sunday, Dec. 28, 2 p.m., with a cookie reception to follow.

The afternoon concert will feature the talents of Marci Beckman, Laurie Karel and family, Ben Bross, John Mager, and other musical artists from the area. The selections will emphasize vocal Christmas music with some instrumental Christmas pieces included. The music will be featured in the acoustically renowned Monastery of St. Gertrude chapel.

The concert is free and all are welcome. Monastery of St. Gertrude, 465 Keuterville Road, Cottonwood.
