Holiday happenings 2014



Cottonwood

•Emmanuel Baptist Church will be having a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, Wednesday, Dec. 24. A cantata, “Christ Was Born for This,” performed by The Whispering Pines Southern Baptist Association Choir, will be performed. All are invited.

•The Monastery of St. Gertrude, located at 465 Keuterville Road, will hold a Christmas Eve Mass at 7:30 p.m. (with caroling at 7 p.m.) and a Christmas Day Mass at 11:30 a.m.

•The Monastery of St. Gertrude will host a Christmas concert Dec. 28, 2 p.m. in the chapel featuring Marci Beckman, Laurie Karel, and other beloved local musical artists. Reception to follow. Call 962-5065.

Grangeville

•Mt. Shadows Baptist Church will host a Christmas cantata, “Christ Was Born for This,” at the church Friday, Dec. 26, 7 p.m.

•Holy Trinity Episcopal Church at 311 Hall Street will hold a Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 at 7 p.m., and a Christmas Day service on Dec. 25, 10 a.m. All are welcome.

•Wednesday, Dec. 24, a Christmas Eve Candlelight service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church at 7 p.m.

•A Christmas Eve Candlelight service will be held Dec. 24 at Grangeville Christian Church, 7 p.m.

•The United Methodist Church will host a Christmas Eve service at the church, 404 W. Main St., 7 p.m.

•Thursday, Dec. 25, a Christmas Day service will be held at 9:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Kamiah

•Faith Lutheran Church will celebrate the birth of Jesus with a candlelight Christmas Eve service starting at 5 p.m. The church is located at 6th and Idaho streets. Treat bags will be handed out for children. All are welcome.

•The Life Center will be host to a Christmas Eve service Dec. 24, 6 p.m.

•The Presbyterian Church in Kamiah will have a Christmas Eve service Dec. 24, 7 p.m.

•Faith Lutheran Church, 6th and Idaho streets, will host a fun night New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31) beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the church. Bring soup, bread, snack foods, etc. There will be games, singing, a movie and lots of stories and old-fashioned fun.

Kooskia

•The Kooskia Presbyterian Church will hold a Christmas Eve service Dec. 24, 5 p.m. A soup supper will precede this.

Riggins

•A Christmas Eve Service is planned for Dec 24 at 6 p.m. at Riggins Assembly of God Church. Contact Pastor Scheline at 630-4444 if you wish to participate in the program.
