Applicator training, testing set Feb. 18-19

NEZPERCE – The Prairie Private Applicator Recertification, Training and Testing program will be held in Nezperce on Feb. 18-19, for area farmers, ranchers and fieldmen. This course is offered every other year and is sponsored by University of Idaho Extension.

The program runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18,, in the Lewis County Courthouse. Those wishing to obtain a private applicator license may attend as a study session for the test, which is offered on Wednesday, Feb. 19. Additional study materials are available for checkout from the Lewis County Extension Office. Current license holders may attend for a basic review of pesticide application safety and rule information as well as recertification credits. Pesticide applicator topics covered include recordkeeping, pesticide formulation, labels and safety, the fate of pesticides, pest control, and basic equipment calibration.

The class will be taught by area U of I Extension educators and specialists. There is no charge to participate. To take the test Feb. 19, call Ken Hart, 937-2311, to reserve a spot. All testing categories will be offered but you do need to register for those.
