Deadline extended on response to county’s USFS suit

Idaho County’s lawsuit challenging road closures continues to move, hokey-pokey style, through the U.S. District court.

The county recently filed a Jan. 21 summons of Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest supervisor Rick Brazell followed by a motion to push back a previously set deadline from Feb. 4 to April 24 in order to allow the feds 60 days to respond to the summons.

The county’s complaint was brought last October “to confirm and/or establish Plaintiffs’ ownership of real estate, and related interests, in and to rights-of-way, roads and other means of access located and situate in Idaho County, Idaho and more accurately and technically identified as Forest Road 212, Forest Road 212B, Forest Trail 854, and Forest Road 1894 within the Nez Perce National Forest near Elk City.”
