Local students win art contest

Reception set for May

GRANGEVILLE — Twenty students have been selected as winners of the Fifth Annual Grangeville Arts and Syringa Hospital Foundation “Get Moving” art contest for students kindergarten through fifth grade. This is an initiative designed to promote the advancement of healthy choices by encouraging children to develop exercise habits.

The winning artwork will be matted by The Gallery and displayed in the emergency wing at Syringa Hospital. The winners and their families will be honored at a tea hosted by Syringa Hospital and Clinic in May at the Soltman Center.

This year’s winners include the following:

•Clearwater Valley Elementary School — fourth grade: Luella Smith and Keri Decker; fifth grade: Matthew Davy, Martha Blanch Smith and Kaitlyn Mangun.

•Elk City School – kindergarten: Elizabeth Tow.

•Grangeville Elementary School — fourth grade: Sonny Swanson, Bailey Adams, Anna Waite, Bella Dame, Camden Barger, Ashton Beeson, Amber Olson, Sadie Keeler, Miles Lefebvre and Bailey Vanderwall; fifth grade: Mary Adamson, Ginger Goins, Rio Buck and Jeffery Hickman.
