The program “Idaho and Abraham Lincoln” will be presented by historian Garry Bush Wednesday, March 5, Grangeville High School, 11 a.m., and at Clearwater Valley High School in Kooskia at 2 p.m.
Bush is a first-person speaker and educator certified by the National Park Service. The event is sponsored by the Lewis-Clark State College Speaker’s Bureau.
Follow the trail of Lincoln’s rise to national prominence and his involvement in the formation of Idaho. Learn how Lincoln and the Union’s future depended on Western mineral wealth and how Lincoln’s legacy impacts Idaho today. Experience Idaho’s beginnings with rare photographs and memorabilia. This will be an interactive PowerPoint presentation which is free and open to the public.
Pleasant View Baptist Church to host men’s breakfast March 8

Parenting class set for March 4 at Soltman Center
GRANGEVILLE — “Let’s Talk About Raising Kids” parenting class is set for Tuesday, March 4, 6:30 - 8 p.m., at the Soltman Center.
Nathalie Kretzmann will offer the free class on increasing compliance, enhancing family closeness and working with respectful discipline techniques, argument stopping and sibling issues.

Suprun to speak at EMS conference March 1
GRANGEVILLE — International EMS author and speaker Christopher Suprun will be the keynote presenter at the Spring Fling EMS Conference March 1 at Grangeville.
Suprun is a firefighter/flight paramedic who responded to the attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, the Washington area sniper, and later Hurricane Katrina. He currently serves as chairman of the Emergency Medical Services for Children National Resource Center Advisory Council and is a frequent author and presenter at conferences across the United State and internationally. He has previously served as adjunct faculty with The George Washington University, the US Secret Service Academy, and numerous other public and private entities.
