Fulcher: Idaho needs fresh leadership

Letter: Mary Alder

Idaho’s farmers, rivers, and even our woodstoves are under assault by the EPA. Our education, which is supposed to be state run, is under the thumb of the U.S. Department of Education and the federal administration.

Our healthcare is under siege by the administration and its IRS. Idaho is being pummeled by the alphabet agencies of the current federal administration.

Are we becoming a satellite state of the federal government by proxy via the present Idaho state elected officers? It certainly looks that way.

Where did the independent and self-sufficient spirit go? As voters, it is so easy to be dismayed when our voices have gone unanswered, our votes trampled (Props. 1, 2 & 3), and we are advised of a new mandates imposed by the federal government via our State leadership, usually after the fact.

Thank heavens this is an election year and we have solid choices in Idaho’s leadership. Candidates who believe in Idaho and that Idahoans can govern our own state. Candidates with proven voting records and balanced resumes who are more concerned with serving Idaho than Idaho serving them.

All my children and grandchildren have remained in Idaho and made it their home. I do trust and believe that Senator Russ Fulcher (R), candidate for governor, can and will get Idaho back on its feet. Thank you for listening to us, Senator Fulcher, Idaho needs fresh leadership!
