It is very clear that we are being governed by a president who cannot be believed or trusted to adhere to our Constitution and defend our republic. Huge numbers of ordinary Americans sit silent because they either don’t know how to resist the Marxist agenda of the current administration and the Democrats in the U.S. Senate who abet his every assault on our Constitution and our freedoms or are afraid to do so. There are things we can all do to stand up to the destruction of our nation in a peaceful set of actions by citizens. Things I think we should all do with vigor are:
Learn — Read everything you can. Watch videos supporting both sides of issues. Use the Internet but check the validity of what you see there every time.
Teach — Talk to everyone you can and don’t forget your family and friends to express your view and share what you have learned. Write letters to the editor and post on social media your concerns and suggestions to improve our society.
Network — Investigate activist groups and find one or more that offer you a forum to speak out and share your views. Hold coffee/tea meetings in your home for those who may share your views and plan collective actions such as contact with your Idaho Congressional delegation.
Affiliate – Become active with local, state and national political parties and movements that have objectives you support.
Lobby – Meet with local, state and federal representatives, write to them often with serious questions and suggestions or call their offices. A toll-free call to the Capitol using 866-220-0044 can get you to their Washington, D.C. offices.
Volunteer – Support candidates for all elected offices that you think will represent you. Every one of us has some skill that will be useful or you know people who can help that you can recruit.
Donate — Time, talent, postage and the “mother’s milk” of politics today, money.
Stand for election – Look at every opportunity, school board, city council, county commission or other county and city positions, state or federal positions of every stripe. Given the performance of some current elected officials many of you can represent a great improvement.
Show up – Most meetings of government have rules regarding public notice and participation. I will grant you that most are boring as watching grass grow but the content affects us all. Show up and participate.
