Woman dies in Jan. 21 two-vehicle crash on US 95

FERDINAND – Investigation is under way into a Tuesday morning two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 95 that claimed the life of Grangeville resident Robin K. Thornton.

Thornton, 42, died at the scene from injuries sustained in the Jan. 21 crash three miles south of Ferdinand, according to an Idaho State Police press release.

The crash was reported at 10:46 a.m. Dustin F. Palazzo, 26, of Lewiston was driving a 2007 Kenworth semi-tractor and trailer northbound when Thornton, who was traveling southbound in a 2002 Ford Focus, crossed the centerline and struck the semi. Both Thornton and Palazzo were wearing seat belts; Palazzo was not injured.

ISP was assisted on scene by the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, St. Mary’s Ambulance, Cottonwood fire and police departments, and the Idaho Transportation Department. Long’s Body Shop provided wrecker services.
