Idaho County Democrats

Sunday, June 22, the Idaho County Democrats held their annual picnic and pie auction at the home of John and Laurie Andrechak, on the Middle Fork of the Clearwater River. Nearly 70 people attended including nine candidates and current members of the Idaho Legislature, Sue Chew, District 17 and Shirley Ringo, District 6.

The pie auction is a huge fund-raiser for the party with most of the proceeds given to campaign funds. Nearly $3,000 was raised, this year. Randy Doman was the auctioneer, assisted by Derek Farr.

Idaho County Democrats also host a biannual election year dinner at Greencreek. This year’s dinner will be held Oct. 11. Greencreek, as the fund-raiser is commonly called, is where Frank Church announced his run for the U.S. Senate in 1956.
