GHS football parents meeting slated Aug. 7

GRANGEVILLE — A mandatory meeting for Grangeville High School football parents to register their incoming freshman through seniors will be held Thursday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. in the GHS gym.

JV and varsity practice will start at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 11.

‘Raspberry ’ fun run goes Aug. 3

COTTONWOOD – Registrations are open for the 10K Fun Run and 5K Walk to be held Aug. 3 at the annual Raspberry Festival at the Monastery of St. Gertrude.

Cost to register is $25 through race day.

Football camp set Aug. 11-12

GRANGEVILLE — A Bulldog Football Fundamentals Camp for kids third grade through eighth grade is scheduled to run 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 11-12. Cost is $30 each for all kids from any schools in our area.

The camp will teach basic fundamentals of football. Lunch and a T-shirt are included. Sign-up forms are available at Northwest Insurance and Lindsley’s Home Furnishings.

‘Riggins Salmon Run ’ fun run set to go Sept. 13

RIGGINS — The Riggins Salmon Run is set to feature half-marathon, 10K and 5K races the morning of Sept. 13. Online registration will close Sept. 10.

City softball showdown scheduled

KOOSKIA — The Kooskia Krush has been challenged by Kooskia volunteers to a coed softball game at Kooskia City Park on Friday, Aug. 1.

Everyone is invited to come and play in this fun-filled game. Be at the park by 4:30 p.m. as the game begins promptly at 5 p.m.

St. Mary’s Hospital golf scramble set

GRANGEVILLE — St. Mary’s Hospital and Clinics will be hosting their annual golf scramble on Sunday, Sept. 21 at the Grangeville Country Club. All proceeds will go towards the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation.

“We limit the number of four-person teams to 15 and use the scramble format so everyone is guaranteed a good time. We have openings for both donors and golfers,” said Cheri Holthaus, SMH Foundation Coordinator.

Teams must have a minimum combined team handicap of 55 and only one player per team can have a handicap of 12 or less.

JAKES Day all set for Aug. 9

GRANGEVILLE — The Camas Prairie Turkey Trackers, will host its sixth JAKES Day event for ages 3-14 on Aug. 9 at the Camas Prairie Bowmens Range south of town on the Grangeville-Salmon Road.

For those ages 8-14, activities include .22 shooting, trapshooting, archery shooting, turkey calling/hunting shoot, survival skills, black powder/muzzleloader shooting, a mountain man demo and lunch.

Registration is limited; the earliest holds priority.
