Cottonwood Senior Citizens

Agnes Forsman opened the May 27 meeting of the Pioneer Senior Citizens with the Pledge of Allegiance and also gave the dinner prayer.

Guests this week were ladies who belong to a 500 Club (cards) from Grangeville and Greencreek which included Reggie Kaschmitter, Norma Schumacher, Josephine Schacher, Lenore Hill, Marie Baune, Joanne Sonnen and Lynn Sonnen. Chuck and Lou Kreautler from Utah also visited as did Bev and Chet Fergason from Cottonwood and Joann Schmidt from Lewiston. There were 66 meals served with 16 takeouts. Gen Broker won the free dinner.

Telling jokes this week were Vera Holthaus, Donna Barnett and Eleanor Hinkelman.

Bob Arledge won the nickel bingo pot while Agnes Forsman won the blackout. Door prizes were won by Irene Terhaar, Dorothy Arnoti, Ed Wassmuth, Sharalyn Forsmann, Grace Remacle, Darlene Clark and Vera Holthaus.

It was Sharalyn Forsmann’s birthday and all sang for her and the fiddlers, who everyone enjoyed, played “Happy Birthday.”

Menu for June 17: ham loaf, au gratin potatoes, peas, fruit cocktail, dessert.
