Motorcyclist hurt in Friday crash

A motorcyclist suffered minor injuries following a two-vehicle crash last Friday, June 6, on U.S. Highway 12.

Corey P. Stolp, 43, of Greenleaf, was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston for treatment. He was not wearing a helmet.

The crash was reported at 3:21 p.m. at milepost 121 (24 miles east of Lowell), according to Idaho State Police. Stolp was riding a 2006 Suzuki M109R eastbound when a 1999 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Aaron M. Hyatt, 25, of Bozeman, Mont., pulled out from a turnout and into his path. Stolp braked to avoid Hyatt, but was unable to do so, and the pair collided on the highway. Hyatt was not injured.

Powell QRU responded to the scene. Jackson’s Towing provided wrecker services.
