LOWELL/SYRINGA — Official start to summer is this weekend. Better start to dry up a little so we can get sunburned. Also property taxes in Idaho County are due on June 20, save up, smile, count your blessings, and be kind to your neighbor.
The Highwaymen have a big run up the Selway this weekend. They usually look pretty rough but are actually not bad except for the shooting off the cannons (beer can cannons) at Johnson’s Bar, that’s always pretty loud!
We plan to borrow the beer can cannon for the 4th of July to help celebrate great-gramma Martha’s 96th birthday.
We have a busy summer ahead, and lots more whitewater rafting too. Three Rivers launched on the upper Selway for a five-day trip, and lots of one-day excitement on the Lochsa is still to be had.
Wilderness Inn is open every day, Cougar Canyon and River Dance Lodge; it’s summertime in Lowell and Syringa!
MERMS are going to Fred Mercer’s Basketball Camp in Kamiah this week, except for Miss Madeline, she decided to stay home with her grampa and catch some fish at the pond.
