June 11 accident results in three-hour power outage

Five Idaho County Light and Power Cooperative customers were without power for three hours last Wednesday, June 11, when as the result of a vehicle crash, electrical distribution equipment was damaged. The incident was reported on Lukes Gulch Road around 1:40 p.m. where a vehicle ran off the road and damaged a padmount transformer, underground sectionalizing cabinet and a member meter pedestal. Power was restored at 5 p.m. Damage estimates were not available; however, ICLP operations manager Cliff McCulley said these will be well more than $1,000.
