Update: Montana teen died in June 2 fatal crash

POLLOCK – The fatality has been identified from a two-vehicle fatality crash, which occurred earlier this month south of Pollock.

Caden Lockhart, 17, of Hamilton, Mont., was the passenger who died in the June 2 crash on U.S. Highway 95. The driver was Matthew Duffel, 18, of Woodburn, Ore. A second passenger, a 17-year-old female from Gresham, Ore., remains unidentified.

Duffel failed to negotiate a right curve at milepost 184, two miles south of Pollock, and crossed into the oncoming lane where his northbound 1987 Toyota Camry collided with a southbound 1997 Kenworth semi-truck, driven by Bruce Long, 49, of Pollock. Lockhart died at the scene.

Long was not injured, and both he and Duffel were the only ones involved wearing seat belts.

Idaho State Police investigated the accident.
