Motorcyclist injured in crash near Powell

* June 25 UPDATE * Tobler succumbed to his injuries in the hospital on June 24th, 2014

POWELL – An Oregon motorcyclist was injured in a single-vehicle crash five miles west of Powell on U.S. Highway 12 last Saturday, June 21.

Edward Tobler, 86, of Eagle Creek was airlifted to St. Patrick’s Hospital in Missoula suffering from unspecified injuries. Patient status was unavailable as of press time Tuesday.

The crash was reported at 2:58 p.m. at milepost 157, according to Idaho State Police. Tobler was eastbound on a 2009 Suzuki when he was unable to negotiate a left-hand curve and hit the guardrail. He was wearing a helmet.

ISP was assisted on the crash by the U.S. Forest Service. Jackson’s Towing provided wrecker services.
