1955 Grumman HU-16C Albatross
As of Tuesday, June 24, 2014
Aviation enthusiasts came out of the woodwork last Wednesday, June 18, when this 1955 Grumman HU-16C Albatross flew into the Idaho County Airport at Grangeville for a short local visit. Owned by Robert M. Lee of Reno, Nevada, this fixed-wing, multi-engine aircraft was primarily used in search and rescue missions.
Looking to see more classic aircraft such as this? Next month, the airport will host the third annual Warbird Weekend event, July 12-13, featuring historic aircraft tours, plane flights, displays and more.
