Forest Service engineers have closed a portion of the Kamiah-Pierce Road 100 at milepost 22.7 due to a crack in the surface. A site inspection by the engineers found the ground has shifted causing an upheaval and sag in the road surface. Until further investigation into the cause of the movement in the roadway is completed, it will remain closed.
Access to Lolo Campground from Kamiah is still open; expect small rocks in the roadway, some of the shaded areas still have snow in them and road is narrow in spots. Drivers should use caution in these areas. Access into the area as far as the Bradford Bridge from Weippe is still blocked by snow.
