I am writing to support the re-election of Lawrence Wasden as Attorney General of Idaho. Wasden has publicly stated that we need to continue to have an attorney general who “will tell you what you need to know rather than what you want to hear. The one who will tell you the whole story, not just the part that can be manipulated to one’s political advantage.”
Wasden has gone even further by pointing out that this primary election is a fight between mainstream, rational folks and those that espouse desires for changes that just cannot be legally obtained. Even in the face of criticism, he has been willing to take a stand for the legal answer to such proposals.
His willingness to sue his fellow land board members for not maximizing returns to benefit the state’s children makes Lawrence Wasden stand out to me as just the type of person we need to keep in the Idaho statehouse.
Attorney General Wasden has proved again and again his adherence to the law and the Constitution of the State of Idaho. He is not deterred by those who would rather he read the law and Constitution in ways to reach a desired outcome.
