White Bird activities, field trips planned

WHITE BIRD — Contact Kathy Stefani if you’re interested in joining her this Friday night for the Women’s Retreat sponsored by the Whispering Pines Association of Churches. Held at Red River (old Forest St.), dinner starts at 6 p.m. and the event ends at noon on Saturday. Cost is $25 but there are numerous sponsorships available. Call 839-2220 for information or to catch a ride.

The Pleasant View Baptist teens will travel to Lewiston on Sunday, June 1, for the Jason Schuster concert to benefit Camp ALACCA. The concert will be held at CrossPoint Alliance Church. Students seventh grade or above are welcome to join, pitching in $2 to help with food. The group will leave White Bird at 4 p.m., eating dinner at Pizza Hut prior to the 7 p.m. concert. Contact Stefani at 839-2220 by Wednesday, May 28, to RSVP. An offering will be taken with all proceeds benefitting the camp. Speaking of which, camp scholarships are available for White Bird kids wishing to attend ALACCA this year. Senior High Camp begins June 15, Middle School Camp, July 6 and fourth-sixth grade camp begins on July 13. All camps are five days this year and run Sunday through Friday. PVBC is planning for Vacation Bible School a little later in the summer this year, July 14-18, with help from a teen mission group from Tennessee. Watch for details.

Mark your calendars for Aaron Weil who will be performing at Pleasant View Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 17, 7 p.m. He is a recording artist who has performed in White Bird in previous years. He and his wife will present an evening of gospel music, both new and old favorites. A goodwill offering will be collected.
