Women’s shooting clinic set June 21

KAMIAH — Camas Prairie Friends of NRA are sponsoring a Women On Target program to be held on June 21 at the Flying B Ranch near Kamiah.

Women On Target instructional shooting clinics create more opportunities for women to learn all about firearms, and to gain confidence in newly acquired shooting skills.

•Learn safe firearms handling

•Learn how to store your firearms safely

•Learn to shoot

•Learn a sport you'll enjoy for a lifetime

Cost for the day, lunch included, is $45. Sign-up and information at Rae Brothers or Kooskia Feed.

“We will have approximately 10 stations set up for women to shoot different types of pistols and rifles with a trainer at each station,” Camas Prairie Friends of NRA secretary Lu Crea noted. “Women will be asked to bring eye and hearing protection but we will have those available that day. Registration and orientation will begin at 8:30 a.m. and events to start at 9:00. After lunch we will have a gun retention class and a non-firearm self-defense class.”

“All women, both experienced and inexperienced shooters, are invited to learn what type of gun you enjoy shooting without any pressure from anyone,” Crea added.
