3Rivers Amateur Radio Club

On Oct 11 and 12 several club members participated in the simulated emergency test for the state of Idaho ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service). Each hour of the 24-hour exercise, communications were established with stations throughout Idaho.

The club repeater on Kidder Ridge is fully operational. Receive frequency is 146.620 MHz. Three work parties were held since the last club meeting. The rack for the four solar panels was installed, and the panels, controllers and the batteries were all installed. The repeater is now on full-time solar/battery power. Work still needs doing on the tower.

The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Pine Ridge Baptist Church off of Hill Street in Kamiah on Tuesday, Nov. 11. After the business meeting, we will have a technical presentation.
