Veterans Day events set across county

COTTONWOOD — The Cottonwood School District will present a program for veterans on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1 p.m. in the Prairie Junior-Senior High School Gym. All veterans and their family members are invited, as well as parents and the public.

Harold Schacher will be receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award, and several Quilts of Valor will be presented to local veterans. Jalisa Wright Hammond will be speaking to honor her brother, Randal Wright. Marine Lance Corporal Wright was injured and disabled in the line of duty in Afghanistan. Both Jalisa and her brother are graduates of PHS

There will also be a slide show to honor veterans. Those who have not already sent pictures of veterans from previous years can email a picture to Mrs. Karel at, prior to Nov. 7.

GRANGEVILLE – Grangeville High School will host its annual Veterans Day assembly Tuesday, Nov. 11, 8:30 a.m. The public is invited to attend this assembly put on by students under the direction of GHS history teacher Pat Sullivan.

RIGGINS — Riggins Elementary School will host a Veterans Day Assembly Tuesday, Nov. 11, 10 a.m.
