KOOSKIA — Clearwater Valley Elementary School will host a Scholastic Book Fair Monday, Dec. 1, through Friday, Dec. 5. Funds raised will help purchase books and supplies for the media center and classrooms. Families, faculty, and the community are invited to attend this fun reading event that helps inspire children to become lifelong readers.
The book fair will feature a family night with refreshments and door prizes Wednesday, Dec. 3, after school until 6 p.m.
The book fair will have daily hours Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. CVES is located at 306 Pine Ave. in Kooskia.
The book fair offers specially priced books and educational products, including popular series, award-winning titles and new releases from more than 100 publishers for preschool through grade five.
Book fair customers may help the school build classroom libraries by purchasing books through the classroom wish list program. In addition, the fair will feature the All for Books™ program, where kids and adults alike can share the thrill of reading by donating loose change to purchase books from the fair for students in the classrooms. Scholastic matches monetary donations with a donation of up to one million books, which go to national non-profit organizations dedicated to helping families in need, such as the Kids in Distressed Situations and Kids In Need Foundation.
On Thursday, all parents and/or grandparents are invited to join their students for lunch in the cafeteria and shop together to get ideas/shop after they go to class for gift items. Volunteers are also welcome; contact Mrs. Hunter at the library.
