BOISE — David Johnston, Executive Director of the Idaho Republican Party, recently announced the hiring of Rachel Spencer as the Deputy Executive Director of the Idaho Republican Party.
“We are excited to have Rachel on board as the newest member of the Idaho Republican party team,” said Johnston. “Rachel will be a valued addition who brings enthusiasm and a well-rounded knowledge of Idaho politics and experience as a leader on multiple political campaigns to the party.”
Spencer grew up in Cottonwood and was active in music and additional programs at Prairie High School. She began her political experience while a young adult helping out on numerous political campaigns; walking precincts and distributing literature for candidates in her district. She also spent two years wildland firefighting with the U.S. Forest Service. She most recently came from Congressman Raúl Labrador’s re-election campaign to work at the Idaho GOP.
“I’m grateful for this opportunity to help the Idaho Republican Party,” said Spencer. “I’m looking forward to using my skills and knowledge to help strengthen the party and I’ll do my part to ensure that Republicans win in the November elections.”
Idaho Republican Party Chairman Steve Yates said, “I am very happy with the hire of Rachel. We are running strong in 2014 and building an even stronger foundation for 2016 and Rachel will be fulfilling a critical role in ensuring that the Idaho Republican Party is successful in the November elections and beyond.”
Spencer’s first day with the party was on Sept. 29.
