LOWELL / SYRINGA River Dance Lodge (ROW) at Syringa is closed for the season. Their huckleberry pie is homemade and the best ever, but you’ll have to wait ‘til 2015! The Wilderness Inn in Lowell remains open through hunting season and their meals and desserts are worth driving upriver as always.
(I remember my third grade teacher, Miss Johnson, said, “Dessert has two s’s, because you want to eat two of them, but deserts are hot and ugly, so you only want one of them s’s”). The USFS is working on a salvage plan to do some logging and put in some roads in the area that burned around Lowell at the Johnson Bar fire. Any questions or comments call Joe Hudson up at Fenn Ranger Station.
The Lowell Quick Response Unit needs volunteers for a free training session. It starts Dec. 2 in Kooskia so be sure to give it some thought and call to sign up: Mary Rogers at 926-0892 or Mark Anderson at 935-5202.
Miss Maddie had a week of birthday parties at the Kooskia City Park, at CV kindergarten class and at home. She is now officially 6 years old. She loves school, she loves her teacher, Mrs. Martinez, and she loves life! The cake, the cupcakes, the ice cream are all gone, the presents are open, the games are played, so now the catch phrase is, “What are you going to be for Halloween?”
