Bulldogs headed to Nampa

NAMPA — Orofino’s 15-14 win over St. Maries during Grangeville’s bye week resolved the Central Idaho League standings tension that kept the CIL tight into the final week of regular season play. In doing so, the Maniacs reserved a matchup against the third-best District III team for themselves and set the Bulldogs against the second-best District III squad: Nampa Christian.

The Trojans (7-2) have a 21-13 triumph at McCall and a 43-7 win over Marsing in games against common opposition. Grangeville (5-3) beat both McCall-Donnelly and Marsing by 41-6 margins earlier this season.

With a win, Grangeville would see the North Fremont-Bear Lake winner. GHS nemesis Declo — 8-0 this year and undefeated since the 2011 post-season — is on Orofino’s side of the bracket.
